A simple Mocking Blow Macro

…that you’ll always forget to use.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a warrior say “Taunt Resisted!” followed by everyone dying only to find out that they didn’t even attempt to Mocking Blow. Well the following macro should give you no excuse.

# show Mocking Blow
/cast [stance:1] Mocking Blow; Battle Stance
/cast Defensive Stance

Simpler in implementation to the Berserker Rage Macro, it allows you to basically just spam one button in order to save your over-eager party members life after a ill-timed taunt resist.

Might need some help here. I tried using this macro tonight:

    # show Mocking Blow
/cast [stance:1] Mocking Blow; Battle Stance
    /cast Defensive Stance

Either Blizz changed something or I am missing something. In my test this macro will change my stance on first click, performing Mocking Blow requires a second click of the macro and will never return me to Defensive stance.

Let me know what you think the problem is.

@Ven U are right u will have to click a couple time for when something makes a G CD it stops the macro at that line. then u will click it again to get the next line.

in reference to the mocking blow macro…

I am new to macros but I am looking for something in one cast sequence that goes something like this..

If taunt fails, use the MB macro from above

If taunt is successful then I would just go about my business of tanking

Or should I just use the MB macro in my def bar and keybind it separately from taunt instead of trying to put them together? I am looking for the “failure” part of taunt so I can just go right into the MB macro.

If someone can direct me to a macro site that has a bit more than the standard stuff, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Love the site, btw, and thanks for the “What I’ve learned in a year” list.

There is no way for macros to have decision logic like that in them. They used to, but that was prior to even TBC.

It’s possible to make a macro like that, depending on your ranks in Imp. Taunt.

Assuming you have 2/2 Imp. Taunt (8 sec CD) you can make a macro like this:

/castsequence reset=8 Taunt, Battle Stance, Mocking Blow, Defensive Stance

That will make you taunt, and if you get a resist, successive clicks will take you to battle stance, Mocking Blow, and then to Defensive stance again.

However, it’s correct that they can’t sense a resiest

Mocking Blow now works in defensive stance (3.0.2) so this macro isn’t needed now.
