My Current Fav 5

I won’t kid myself and say that these will stay my favourites forever, but currently the following are my fav 5 items.

5. [item]Boots of Elusion[/item]
The first item I got in Karazhan many months ago. These boots were a massive upgrade at the time and still remain one of the few item slots that I’m completely satisfied with. The fact that they match the tier 4 is just gravy ;)

4. [item]Crest of the Sha'tar[/item]
Sha’tar rep was the first new faction that I grinded to Exalted with and this shield is why. It’s hard to argue with the 61 stamina this offers once it’s fully socketed and enchanted. Sure there are a couple upgrades to look forward to, but the reality is that if I don’t upgrade this for another couple months, that’ll be okay. (Ironically enough a day after I wrote this, I bought [item]Azure-Shield of Coldarra[/item])

3. [item]Mantle of Abrahmis[/item]
On our 2nd Netherspite kill, I acquired this huge upgrade from my wimpy [item]Warchief's Mantle[/item]. It meant that I’d finally get to stop grinding desperately for my [item]Shoulderguards of the Bold[/item]. It wasn’t until recently though when they switched it’s ugly pally graphic to Red Wrath Shoulders that it became my true #3.

2. [item]Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer[/item]
This sci-fi stylin’ gun is my most recent tanking upgrade, but its #2 spot can’t be entirely accredited to its flavour of the month status. The reality is that there aren’t any tanking guns available better than this beast.

1. [item]Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker[/item]
I don’t know if I can possibly say enough about the weapon that practically tells the tale of my character. I collected the 1st half out of pure fluke and the 2nd half only 3 weeks later, but it wasn’t until 6 months later that I got it completed. The fact was I was loyal to a guild that couldn’t kill Rag and it took the gold I acquired from leveling from 60 to 70 to buy the majority of the materials myself. This sword’s tremendous material list guaranteed that I wouldn’t have my epic flying mount for months (and I still don’t), it ultimately led to me leaving the guild I got it with and I completed the blade only a couple weeks before they nerfed it.

Doesn’t sound all that good, does it?

Well, I’ve found since then that while its not easy-mode multi-tanking anymore, it’s still producing better threat than my 90+ dps alternatives not to mention “no rage required” Improved Thunder Clap is still pretty hot. And who am I kidding, it’s freakin’ Orange.

You are lucky I decided that your 2nd thunderfury piece was gonna drop. The prophet has spoken.

I like the Boots of Elusion much more than the Battlescar boots, so yay for listing them.

The shield’s really good, but although it has more stamina (if you gem it correctly), I like the heroic badge one more. The Nightbane shield (which I passed when it dropped, since the OT needed the upgrade more than me) is good, but besides the slight increase in block and armor, it’s basically the same shield as the heroic one. If the Gruul one ever drops (I know, QQ), it’s mine. I.. just need to get it to drop. :(

And obviously since I still have my lame bold shoulders, the Netherspite shoulders have yet to drop, and when my tier shoulders have actually dropped for me, it went to others.

And that gun is made of absolute WIN. I love, love, love it. If only there was more craftable tanking gear, I could replace my crappy gear slots instead of trying to be patient to see loot drop.
