Mongoose FTW!!!! I have this on my KD and I absolutley love it. The other equaly geared tank in our guild has BM on his SE. I outdo his tps with my goose procs. Not to mention the dodge, crit, armor, ect.. it adds. It procs very often, staying on me for most of the time during a boss fight. Had it proc and reset itself all the way through phase 2 and 3 on Prince. Boy, that was a big help!!!! This chant with the SSO necklace puts my dodge up to an ungodly amount, I may get a rage issue on trash mobs, but on bosses it never happens and I sit back and laugh at them swinging for the fence and hitting only air!!!

Just wondered about the ~6% Dodge from Mongoose. I got KD just recently (in my 3rd Kara Run :P) and didn't waste much time to get Mongoose onto it.

For me a Mongoose Procc boosts my dodge rating from roughly 21% to about 34%, that said it's a 13% (!) additional dodge rating. Assuming it's on about 1/4 of every fight which I found to be the case this comes down to an average of >3% dodge.

Dunno if it's for the lack of Agi on my equip (there's almost none) and it boosts even higher with a low agi base, but still it's an ASTONISHING increase.

I with you on BM, if you find you dont have much of an aggro issue, and con hold it fine w/o mong or exe, BM can be a great stress relief on your healers, esspecially in those long fights, over the course of the whole fight you'd get alot of procs, and saving the healers a nice chucnk of mana on the heals you dished out over the course of the fight. But if your healers are absolutly top notch and rarely let people die, then why not go for more dmg and threat? but again, BM has a more passive use than the other 2, and can really save your healrs mana and stress.

Goodman, I suggest you go with mongoose because the over-all tanking procs are better than executioner. If you really need the extra threat generation, then you can always switch. That's the nice thing about enchantments. Plus, with 2.4, gold is easy to come by.

Keep in mind that Mallet is both superior in terms of survivability and TPS over both Sun Eater and Quickening Blade (which is really a rogue sword). Therefore, you'll see a general improvement anyway. Adding mongoose just caps it off brilliantly.

I've been through Sun Eater (nice avoidance sword), King's Defender (best tanking weapon pre-SSC), Blazefury (swordsmith only, best tank TPS until Hyjal), and now Mallet (better over-all than all 3). Mongoose is the only way to fly, IMO.

While it may not be "the best tanking enchant" I use battlemaster on my kings defender and I have found very favorable results. I have had it save party members lives when the healer was in the middle of a big heal on myself and a cc went rampant, and while the heals are not that big they are 200-300 across the whole party and even myself which pisses the mobs off and helps the healers. I don't doubt the mongoose enchant is great for tanking, but I believe that Battlemaster shouldn't be thrown to the floor.

Yeah, more than a year of Karazhan runs every week and my warrior still doesn't have KD. My priest has sharded it four times though. At this point, I don't even think I'd take it unless I was really the only that could use it at all. With Mallet of the Tides/executioner and The Unbreakable Will/mongoose I'm not sure I'd ever use KD anymore. I might try dropping a different enchant on it just to experiment, but it would mostly be collecting dust in my banks or bank.

Kings defender, for me, took months and months to drop. I started running Kara with my guild back in September or October of last year and didn't get KD until last month. Don't count on it dropping.

Also, I had quickening blade of the prince from MgT (a better threat weapon) before I had KD. That should give you an idea.

Well, if you think ALL your tanking gear will drop for you on your first run, why enchant anything? It's for you to decide to spend the money on what you already have, or wait for something that may not drop for a long time.
