Kara/Heroics: Resistence Required?
Jadye ask - “What resist sets do I really need for tanking Kara/Heroics?”
While all of them have limited uses, it can pretty much be broke down as follows.
- Shadow: First Boss in Heroic Mana Tombs, First Boss in Heroic Arcatraz.
- Fire: Final Boss in Heroic Ramparts.
- Nature: Not necessary.
- Arcane: Tanking adds on the Curator fight as well as for some parts of the Tempest Keep Heroics (Arcatraz, Botanica, Mechanar) before you get solid tanking gear. (12k unbuffed health is a good measure)
- Frost: Not necessary.
So basically, other than a decent Arcane Resist set you can pretty much get by with just your regular old run of the mill tanking sets. Although as I’ve said previous, I recommend 3 standard tanking sets.

I like to wear my AR gear for the last boss in Heroic Sethekk. He drops aggro after he blinks so it helps a TON to just soak his AE instead of trying to run behind the pillars. His AE ends up hitting for about 800 with it on. /chuckle
And remember, the patrollers on Mech can be stunned (mmm…concussion blow) and their charged fists can both be interrupted and reflected.
