I personally never make a build without imp sunder. Even my offtank fury/prot spec has imp sunder. I'd take it over bloodrage because if you use devestate twice in one minute (c'mon, of course you will), it'll be more useful than bloodrage.

I know bloodrage allows you to have rage prepull and all, but i've found normal bloodrage given a few seconds is plenty for me prepull.

Just think about how many times a fight you use devestate and do the rage math.

I can't live without my imp HS, as I'm not often the one tanking those infinite-rage situations. Once I'm that far into arms, I usually grab anger management too. Once I AM tanking those infinite rage bits, I'll swap my imp sunder for imp def stance, and give up my imp HS and anger for some imp dem shout. The minutiae bits are all about what your tanking either way.

I'm not sure if the armor comparison is a valid one. This is because you're comparing a situation in which there is already some damage reduction present versus a situation where there is no damage reduction. At 54% PDR, a 10k hit does 4,600 damage. At 60% PDR, it does 4,000 damage. That's actually a roughly 13% reduction in damage. This does not scale linearly. As an extreme example, if you already have 93% PDR, a 99% PDR is almost an 86% reduction in damage. In your example, a true 6% reduction would be moving from 54% PDR to 56.76% PDR. I'm not sure what that is in armor.

Then again, most tanks are willing to spend 5 talent points to get 10% more armor.

i guess iw as just thinking about how useless it is if a spell hits you for 1k. it would insted only do 940, 60 damage less... 6% didnt seem worth it.

Okay I'll counter with a couple numbers for ya...

14,040 Armor = 54% Physical Damage Reduction
17,940 Armor = 60% Physical Damage Reduction

Would you take a talent that gave you 3,900 Armor for only 3 points?

am i just a retard for thinking 6% reduced spel damage isnt worth it? i have your exact spec, except i got imp sunder instead of imp defence stance. i just dont think the 6% reduced dmg is as useful as the reduced rage of sunder... even though i dont spam sunder more than once or twice on trash.

In a non-infinite rage situation, Shield Slam is my ability of choice.

The reasoning behind demo shout is that enemy mobs often have a multiplier associated with their Attack Power. So a reduction of 400 AP can result in a loss of 2000 AP or more.

That being said, its nice to have an off-tank with imp demo shout and imp thunderclap so you don't have to do it as the main tank ;)
