Tanking mobs that hit like Pansies
You know those mobs that hit ridiculously hard? Well this list is for the ones that DON’T!
-
Stop using Shield Block
-
Stop using Thunderclap
-
Stop using Demoralizing Shout
-
Block Value! Block Value! Block Value!
-
No Heroic Strikes
For whatever reason you are still instinctively using Shield Block on mobs that don’t hit hard. You aren’t doing your healers any favors when low threat leads to clothies getting beat on.
You getting hit more frequently = You getting rage more steadily.
The less you get hit for = The less rage you get.
Make a Block Value set. Those huge Shield Slam crits aren’t just cool, they generate some massive threat.
Heroic Strike is a fantastic ability, but it has a very specific purpose and that is for High Rage fights to dump rage quickly. A weak hitting mob should never be on the receiving end of a Heroic Strike. They don’t deserve it

I think I have about 550-ish in my 5-man gear.
I usually use my regular tanking gear for Kara trash though cause my healers are like goldfish when we’re not on a boss.

fantastic advice. nice guide. all common sense stuff that gets forgotten in a rush.
Really interesting too about the ETP thing; I -never- would have thought of the Arathi Kingz as > the Farstriders for threat; but I think you’re right.

Additional hint: dance to berzerker and pop berzerker rage (then go back to def ofc) for extra rage.
