I always try and put at least one point into this talent, especially because that first point is the 3 seconds, while the second point is only 2 seconds.

Easy, guilds that or more casual and have no real imperative desire to progress, it just kinda happens as a bi-product of having fun.

Also, I meant "struggling" as in virtually having no chance at overcoming the encounter, no matter what they do. I did not mean it as to say you take a couple wipes, learn from your mistakes and then move on, thats a nice medium.

Neither of these examples fit into those categories, to answer your question.

My apologies for the ambiguous wording.

I must echo some of the comments here that I leave out how good it is at recovering through bad situations as well above and beyond the lock-in kill.

That being said Draxis...

I'd like to know a guild that isn't either about:
1. Frequent Progression
2. Struggling to Progress

Honestly... I don't think there is a guild that doesn't fit in one of those two categories.

I can agree with the fact that a tank should always at least consider it; I personally however feel its a bit lacks for what it gives for 2 talent points. In order for it to be useful, it was said that you need to down a progression fight at least once within the parameters of that extra 5 seconds of shield wall (not the previous 10). That seems to be dicey, and I've never been a fan of improving something that I can potentially only ever use every 30 minutes. Sure, I use shield wall like we all do, I monitor my own health at all times during a fight, and I don't ALWAYS save it for the last 1-2%, if LS, pots, HS's are down (happens more times than not) and my healers let me go to low, I will not hesitate to pop it.

I can, however, concede that it may more useful to some guild tanks more than others (those hardcore that demand frequent progression and those struggling to progress at all).

I'd call this talent a toss-up at best.

Shield wall on the Prince fight is handy if you have to move him to the other side of the platform mid fight because of bad infernal drops. Just don't drag him through your party during an enfeeble.

I think it depends on your guild... where you are in raiding/instances. Also, if you have freakishly good healers like I have in my guild, you might not need it as much as others...

I rarely needed shield wall in any of the normal 5-mans, and have rarely needed it during heroic runs... but once you get deep into Kara, or anything beyond, I think it's prudent to have those extra 5 seconds just in case. It's one of those talents where you hope you never have to use it (and you MAY never have to), but the one time you need it during a raid, everyone will be glad you have it.

I've not respecced for the extra 5-seconds yet, simply because normal shield wall seems to get the job done if needed, thus far. Our guild is on the Prince. I'll probably re-spec this week... The Prince hits pretty hard. :0)

First of all, yup its 5 seconds and I've updated the post to reflect that. 2nd, I must admit that you don't always have to have this talent, but you should definitely always consider it. The fact is that the prot tree (and the arms/fury trees to a lesser extent) have a lot to offer especially utility-wise for a warrior.
