1 Harsh Reality of being a Tank

You are going to be poor.

3 Ways to be Less Poor

  1. Get 375 Fishing
  2. Fishing is extremely profitable and best of all you can do it the same speed as everyone else. ;)

  3. Do at least 1 easy Quest every day
  4. The Skettis Bombing quest is extremely easy especially since with high defense you won’t get dazed. Two other easy quests to look into are Aether Wranglers and The Relic’s Emanations.

  5. Mine to Prospect
  6. It’s tempting to spend endless amounts of time trying to upgrade Blacksmithing, but in the end simply mining Adamantite Ore and getting it Prospected by a Jewel Crafter will result in tons of Blue Gems that you can sell for more money. (be sure to keep Stars of Elune for your own gear!)

    5) If you have epic mount it’s rather easy to do at least the nethercite ore or nether pollen quest for the netherwings. Both can be done above ground where you only have to worry about the occational ascendant, while the rest of the mobs will be your friendly neighbourhood fel orc peons. The herb version also yields fel lotus or up to 3 motes of mana when gathering and the nethercite veins drops both green and blue gems as well as eternium ore.

The bombing quest in Blade’s Edge is quite easy too, even without an epic mount.

Told you this would be a decent topic. You should have thrown in a few more easy daily’s :)

Ten dailys can be done in an hour and a half as a prot warrior and give 125 gold. You want to do the four dailies from Ogri’la to raise your rep and get the crossbow and boots.

    Ogri’la
    The Relic’s Emanation
    Bomb Them Again
    Wrangle More Aether Rays!
Banish More Demons (Fight the fire casters in the south and interrupt them)

    Skettis
    Fires Over Skettis
    Escape from Skettis

    Netherwing
    Nether* Ore/Pollen/Hide
Picking up the Pieces… (18g reward!)
Dragons are the Least of Our Problems (Watch the ravager patrols)
The Booterang: A Cure For The Common Worthless Peon

Every second or third day when you have enough
    Netherwing Crystals

See the real issue is that if you take the time to properly socket and enchant your gear, it’ll take a long time to get your epic flyer and it’s what makes you so much money.

I won’t deny that post-epic flyer money is a joke.

I gave you my last 5 gold. ;_; Now I beg for copper next to the fruit vendor in Lower City…

I would say something useful, but my fishing is like 180 and I’m terrible at making money. XD

Roll an Ice mage for farming
    Have your ore prospected
    Cook
Charge for key / attunement / lower instance runs
    Farm drops from rare spawns
Sell limited qty items on AH

I also try building up alliances with folks I group with frequently. They know it costs me money and time to tank instances. I need to be crafting or making myself money. They need me to run instances. In return for doing endless instance runs they give me stuff that they craft. Flasks, Food, Pots, Wards, Armor Kits, Jewels etc.

This helps me maintain the cash I need for repairs and lvling my own crafts.

I dont see an epic flyer anywhere in my future. I usually give all my BOE epic patterns and drops to the guild because it it worth more to the guild than me having a dragon.

I hear this all the time, people complaining about being poor. I don’t get it. I’m a raiding tank (up to Magtheridon but still), I have all my professions maxed, I have 6 Epic (including 3 flyers) mounts and right now I have just shy of 2k gold and that’s only because I’ve been leveling an alt.

    The real key is this…

    Do the dailys, super easy.

NEVER buy from the AH unless it’s an absolute emergency. The AH is a money black hole.

    l2fish/cook, can’t say that enough.

Farm to sell. I’ll kill anything and loot it because it’s all vendorable and you may get lucky and get that epic drop.

Buy lvl 51-59 Greens from the AH at 4g and under, disenchant them, sell reagents. You can spend more on weapons, rifles and armour which guarantee a greater eternal essence.

A warrior and priest Scholo run. It’s takes about 40 min but you make about 50g from selling all the greens and blues to a vendor, more if someone can DE (large brilliant shards). Then you hit the AH and sell the runecloth, dark runes and boe blues.

I’ve never been so rich than now with my prot warrior.
Most of the money comes from farming Teremus in Blasted lands and selling 1-3 blues for 20-60g each. I often get more than 100g for that 7 minutes kill. My other trick is that I have a set that gives physical IMMUNITY against lvl70 normal dual wielding mobs. (high block% and avoidance, filling up the attack table) I pull the whole room of 20-30 Demon Hunter mobs at Black Temple, put my back to a corner and they kill themselves on my sporeggar shield + shield spike.
Daily quests are not profitable for me, but sometimes I do them :)

I have had no problems getting enough cash for repairs, buying gems etc. Why? Because:

I’m an alchemist, I can charge from transmutes, or sell my own transmutes. Primal mights are nice little income, not to mention high end pots and flasks. Also I can make my own pots/flasks and in my opinion, alchemy is by far easiest profession to max. I don’t bother to gather my own herbs unless I’m doing quests or just farming because selling a stack of pots gives enough cash to buy mats for 20 pots (Sha’tar EU) Only reason to pick up herbs is motes of life and selling those primals as well.

Daily quests, which you can complete up to 25 per day, each granting 10g minimum and 24g max.

Having engineer hunter alt who can farm Nagrand air clouds for primal airs and Zangar for water.
