6 Tanking Blogs I read
While I always strive to bring what I feel is especially useful or original content, I think it’s time I let you all in on 6 secrets to my site’s success. These 6 tanking blogs are what I follow on a daily basis to see what’s new, exciting and insightful in the world of tanking beyond my own stumblings in the game and on forums.
- Ciderhelm’s Blog
- Tank Hard!
- The Positive Warrior
- Daddy Gamer
- Tankgst
- Pretty in Plate
Ciderhelm is best known for his guide stickied on the WoW Warrior Forums and more recently for running the site Tankspot.com. While his posts aren’t always 100% tanking related, they still always end up being an entertaining and insightful read.
Now sporting 2 writers, Bizzam and Rochelle, Tank Hard! offers a lot of advice to people around the Karazhan progression range as well as offering a plethora of generally insightful posts. The team at Tank Hard! has done a great job of offering a high frequency of updates making it a nice place to regularly check out.
Another blog similar to Tank Hard! and my own that chronicles the journeys of the dwarf, Brigin. The majority of his posts focus on his toon and guild’s progression, but you’ll find some solid posts analyzing specific pieces of gear among other things as well.
Daddy Gamer focuses on the successes and trials of a father trying to find the time to play World of Warcraft. I always find that Daddy Gamer’s post leave me a little more grounded than when I woke up that day after I read them. Any time I feel like the balancing act of WoW is a little too much for me, I find myself reading his stuff and realizing how easy and lucky I really have it.
As Tharok of Tankgst puts it his blog follows the joys and pains of being a tank in WoW. He doesn’t post too often, but when he does I enjoy keeping up with his progression through Warcraft.
Last and definitely not least is the blog known as Pretty in Plate by the toon Jessika. Most of the posts focus on Jessika’s travels as a tank still fresh to 70 with plenty of Heroics, Karazhan, and beyond to explore. There is a certain goofiness and nativity in her words that makes me really envy her at times as to the vast amount of encounters she still has available to experience.
That’s the works. Each of them with their own unique angle, edge and tone. I better find you all checking them out with me too!

Thanks for the link Beckbristow. I had checked your site out a while ago, but it didn’t seem like you updated it much so it dropped off my RSS page. Good to see you are actively posting now!
