Made my start in the day even better this morning. I really appreciate your work here, and allthough there are no “revelations” in it for someone who allready read all the guides and blogs and stuff it’s still fun to listen to.
Just a remark on Kara AoE Tanking: Let the pally do it!

On the contrary, even people who do forage other blogs, guides, and sites can & do miss things. Vene is very straight-forward & his content is always well-written.

Passive Uncrushable - is there anywhere in the game you actually “need” this? I’ve heard tanks hint that you need it on Illidan where I can’t find any real proof or reason why the tank MT him should need this.
I must say a good podcast, better quality than the first one.
As for avoidance (I’m hearing it now) you could of course add to the fact different avoidance gives different effects to you as a player. Parry is a stat I’d choose in front of dodge since you get rage and in return aggro from that where dodge is simply pure avoidance Yes, it’s more expensive for pure avoidance, but you also gain more from it. Then again I’m quite a lot for aggro / effective health set with a “steady” or “soild” rage, TPS and DTPS progression. I know in general what so expect and so does my raid.

Illidan doesn’t crush. He casts ‘Shear’ pretty regularly though.

Shear can’t be ‘missed’ but it can be dodged, blocked, or parried. Passive uncrush on Illidan would mean you don’t have to press shield block to get out of shear. But most uncrush sets assume miss chance. Passive uncrush with out miss is tough to reach. ( not to mention, you’re probably not wearing the best gear for the fight )
Passive uncrush is something I’d use for the worm AOE pulls before the second boss in magistars terrace. Tell your group to grab a coffee and solo the pulls.

Great episode. I liked it much more than the first and am looking forward to the third. As a 70 gearing for heroics and Kara (and looking for a suitable 10-man), I find all of your advice extremely timely and helpful. Dare I say it truly excites me to get home and tank this weekend.

One thing though, I must say, as a person who followed your “no excuses, pre kara gear” post… I have very low avoidance, so I MUST pick up the chest piece first in order to get back up there.

Anyways, i see what you are saying bout the new BOJ items in regards to that chest piece (with expertise being toptoptop). That being said, this reduces my choices to the Chestguard of the Stoic Guardian that you mention an earlier article or the S2 or S3 chest. Which would you recommend?

Ya I perhaps was a little hard on the new badge chest just because so many people are going bonkers over it. It definitely is better than the Chestguard of the Stoic Guardian and certainly is a fantastic upgrade over your “of the bold” chest.

Depends. Do you have lots of extra heroic badges, or lots of extra arena points?
PVP chests are decent for effective health, and threat. But the tank specific chest is putting full use of its item points into survivability.

i have 105 badges atm and can’t find an arena team worth a damn in my server, but if the S2 or S3 is worth it, i’ll start trying to do more arenas. Our server is currently at 65% of phase 2 in terms of sunwell progression.

I enjoy the podcast, but half an hour is way too long. This should have been three pod casts. I am interested in what you’re talking about, but I rarely have 30+ minutes to listen. I would much prefer smaller chunks.
