Uncluttering your Toolbar: Healthstones

As a warrior, your toolbars are undoubtedly overfull with a variety of abilities. Here’s a nice, easy way to free up a couple spots that I stumbled across at Tankspot thanks to Lore.

#showtooltip item:32578
/use item:22105
/use item:22104
/use item:22103
/use item:32578

Basically all in 1 button, it uses the biggest Healthstone possible and if no healthstone is available then it tries to use a Charge Crystal Focus. I’ve tweeked it a little to show the tooltip for the Charge Crystal Focus since those are stackable to 20 and it’ll let you easily keep track of how many you have remaining.

    Awesome, this will save a lot of space. Another tip I use that’s relating is macroing my health pot to my last stand ability. Often times just using one or the other isn’t enough to save me, and using both gives the healers ample time to get me back into shape.

    Sup Vene!

    So we only have to click this macro once, right?

    An alternative to that could be the Auto bar mod. I have just started using it last week and it’s great and very customizable. And it already has the same function in it as the macro, where it will show the biggest healthstone in your inventory and when you use it it shows the second biggest one and so on.

    Hegel, I can’t say if it’s 1005 reliable but it appear WoWhead use the same itemID in his database.

    ex : http://www.wowhead.com/?item=22104 lead to the itemID 22104

    @Masterwolf: Yup, you only have to click it once. (course it’ll trigger a 2min cooldown once you use one of them) Great to see ya here chatting it up. :)

    Nightmare Seed is superior to Charge Crystal Focus. The Focus heals for 2000 but the Seed is like a mini last stand, increasing health by 2000 for 30 seconds. They share the same cooldown so I would replace the Focus for the Seed in that macro.

    Gonna leave a question that many will probably know, but I can’t find an answer to. Where are Nightmare Seeds found? I’ve ready various places and mobs in Shadowmoon Valley, and I remember when a Nightmare Vine used to have them occassionally. But it’s been a long time since I’ve seen one.

    Nightmare Seeds can only be herbed from Nightmare vines. If you aren’t a herbalist, then your best chance to get the Seeds is to look them up on Auction House. They can vary in price, since server’s economoy varies, but i found the best price to be 4g/Seed. (On realm Boulderfist)

    Nightmare Seeds have a different purpose in a fight than healthstones so it’s best to have them on their own spot. One could perhaps justify making a macro for Last Stand or Nightmare Seed if LS is on cooldown.

    Would it be possible to make a macro where you have the same as above, but where it swiches to Super Heal pot when you dont have any of the stones/crystals and/ore of they are on CD?

  21. Offtank Says:

    I’ve tweaked it abit and came up with this,

    #showtooltip item:22105,22104,22103;
    /use item:22105
    /use item:22104
    /use item:22103

    What it does it that it shows all 3 healthstones you have but it starts with the one which heals the most. And after you’ve used them, it shows next one.

    @ Tossefar,
    I think (not that good at macroing) that you just need to add this line:
    /use item:22829

  22. admin Says:

    @Offtank:
    That’s an interesting variation, but when I tested it out it seemed to only show the 2496 healthstones for me and not show the next one in line.

    @Tossefar:
    Ya, you’d just have to throw /use item:22829 on the end of the original macro.

  23. Dezdemone Says:

    Well I changed the macro to read:

    #showtooltip item:22829
    /use item:22105
    /use item:22104
    /use item:22103
    /use item:32578
    /use item:22829

    Since I rarely have charged crystal focus’ laying around, the only problem is since the HS and Heal pots have different CD I am pretty sure this macro burns both a HS and a pot. =( Anyone have any ideas on how to tweek it so it only uses a pot if you’re out of HS?

    I LOVE THIS! I have 2 extra spaces on my action bars. I found that I’m actually using the Charged Crystal Focus now, for some reason I didn’t have them on my action bar. I was sitting on several in my bags but I’m finding that they’re getting used. must…farm….more!
