I am not going to argue the validity of any of the comments above.

I am human and I use both my Mallet and my UW during the course of every raid night depending on the fight. I do not believe that a single piece of badge gear is worth my badges over the pieces that I already have. The girdle in my mind is very good, and the threat stats on both are just about a wash. The new badge chest is crap compared to ZA/T5/Glory, and since I have never seen anything but Glory, it is what I wear. I wear my faceplate proudly and highly doubt that I would ever pick up a T6 helm. The helm is just plain not good and its not worth using over the faceplate. You want your T6 4set, take the hit and wear the gloves, or just plain hold out til you can pick up the bracers.

All that being said, I wanted to comment on two missing items in your list.

1) As someone already mentioned, Mother Shahraz’s sword is a real option for tanking as these days, most high end raiding rogues either are using badge fists or S3 weapons.

2) As a human, you discount the Temple trash drop mace, Swiftsteel Bludgeon, completely out of hand. This is a weapon that is very nice threat weapon for humans. For those people who did not have the opportunity to see a Mallet drop and for those that have one like myself. This mace is a wonderful threat weapon all around and should be regarded as such. It may be the best kept secret in tanking weapons, but its out there.

Excellent point, can’t believe I missed those. Those certainly trump the T6 in terms of pure survivability.

They give insane stamina if you put 2x 15 stamina in it, it also has nice defense rating and nice dodge rating.

IMO this one is better for avoidance than tier 6 and maybe better than the ones from teron too.

Sorry if I am being dense or am asking to be spoonfed. I read the badge article but maybe I missed something. You say what are the top 10 BoJ items to get but does that mean they are better than the drops in SSC/TK/ZA? They are clearly better than Kara/Gruuls/Mags. I’m just trying to decide if I should see what I get in my SSC and ZA runs before spending badges. The badges are burning a hole in my pocket!

Would love to see this for ZA/SSC/TK with the basic assumption that the gear has to be better than badge gear to be worthwhile.

That’s a solid point Ivanstone…. the gloves definitely aren’t the unique snowflake they once were.

@Zzed: The SSO Neck is a good point. I actually keep forgetting to go buy the silly thing, I’m definitely starting to lean more towards using it since the Parry Cap seems to be grossly high. (57)

Note to Self: I really gotta look into threaded comments for this site… I think it’d make the comments section a whole lot more useful and fun.
