Interviewed at WorldofMatticus.com

I’ve failed at making a true About page here for quite some time. Thankfully Matticus over at WorldofMatticus.com held my hand and forced me through an interview.

http://www.worldofmatticus.com/2008/09/05/20-questions-with-veneretio-tankingtipscom/

Highlights include:

  • Making fun of healers
  • Where this blog is going
  • Some actual comments on WotLK
  • Where Elvis is
  • …and more!

Great interview, good to see the man behind the blog. Your point on negativety is spot-on, I completely agree that there are far too many curmudgeons out there who just can’t be pleased with anything Blizzard does. This game is supposed to be fun, relax and enjoy it.

    Don’t hate me cuz I’m beautiful :(

  4. Krakbak Says:

Dear god I laughed hard at your pre-raid ritual.

Im in a small guild really. We could do 25 man stuff but we never really have that many online. Thats one of the reasons Im looking forward to WotLK, I can do 10 man end game stuff. If only to see it.

Amen to the people whining about nerfs and buffs.

Until you actually told me you were Canadian, I just thought you were bad at typing and talked funny. :/

2 Pally Buffs are for the lose, 3 is where its at!

Kavtor reply on September 5, 2008 2:13 pm:

Tell that to our pallys, so they show up! Tanking Twins with a pally main healer and no light was ridiculous.

  7. Kavtor Says:

‘A step towards the end of raid-only warriors I hope’

What’s wrong with warriors who just raid? =P

Our invites sound sort of the same, except we usually start by asking our healing leads how many we’ll need, and actually taking their word for it.

Then our melee officer and caster DPS officer spend a half hour arguing over how many raid spots each of them gets. And then they go ahead and invite 3 huntards, for no particular good reason.

/unofficial co-writer? There’d be a lot less silliness about orcs if I had anything to say about it. They’re ugly, and they stink!

    (who am I kidding… no, you wouldn’t)

Great interview Vene, your blog is the reason i created a warrior and i’m still going strong, keep up the good work :P

  9. Ivanstone Says:

Insult the healers? Quite frankly sir that is just wrong.

What you should be doing is trying to get them killed.

One evening on the way to Supremus:
Ivan: “Hey Worm, don’t stand there.”
Holyworm: “Wha? ….. AIGH! You bastard.”

There’s nothing like spreading around the joys of armour repairs with your raid mates. It was very thoughtful of Blizzard to keep their dungeons well stocked with demons that have conical breath weapon attacks.

The Paladin tank in my last guild had an unbelievable amount of fun using the cleave attack of the massive skeleton guys on the way to Teron.

With health getting higher and higher, it was inevitable that it’d be nerfed.

Great seeing your interview, it was nice hearing some interesting stuff. I’ve kind of avoided tanking blogs in the past, since my main is a healer… but I laughed when you said everybody needs to have tanked ST. Done it on my warrior with a MS build and it was great fun. Glad to have found your blog, though, will definitely be reading!
