Talking Tank: Reloaded [Updated]

(Image ninjaed from the fine folks at rawrcast.com)

Just a heads up, I’ll be discussing the current and future state of tanking with Lore from Tankspot.com and Arment from the Reawaken guild on US-Staghelm on the Rawrcrast show on Friday, April 2nd at 7pm CST. (LIVE) Feel free to show up and join in the chatroom fun or leave me some questions that I can blindside my fellow participants with.

Note: If the question is too Warrior specific, but really, really good then I’ll probably just write a post about it here!

Update

It’s done! You can check it out here: Talking Tank: Reloaded

Haha, just have to be in the right mood to do the solo podcast thing. I have to be both inspired + actually have the time to record immediately which is trickier to align than it sounds.

You’re doing a podcast with Lore? Oh dear, this could all go terribly wrong … :P

This sounds like it could be quite good!

Here is a discussion point I would like to hear several tanks discuss, “how important is it to gem for Expertise and Hit over all Stamina?” I have had this debate with several people as of late, taking the side of Expertise to 26, Hit to 8% or close to it on both.
My opinion is that Blizzard gives us more than blue sockets for a reason, might as well socket for bonuses and hit the lower points for both.

I too was hoping to find this archived somewhere, but was unable to locate it. Perhaps it was postponed?

Sorry I kept you guys out of the loop here. We had last minute scheduling conflicts so it was postponed a week. I’ve updated this post with a link to the finished podcast.

Well, your job is to A) Generate enough threat, and B) Survive. If you can do A) without capping Hit & Expertise, then you’re also optimizing B.

In my experience, unless I’m grotesquely undergeared, I ignore H&E, and glyph taunt.

    Listened to the podcast..
    It was good!
But you were a little quiet there Vene. Lore and Satori (sp?) got to dominate the conversations.
I always looking forward to listening to things like this. It makes me want to jump on and play! Hardly noticed that it was around 2 hours long!!

I’m really looking forward to cataclysm. Keep up the good work and you should try to do more of these tanking table talks!!

Veneretio reply on April 18, 2010 5:16 pm:

Ya, I didn’t jump in as much as I usually do. Kind of wanted them to be able to say their piece since I’ve been on the show a few times. Plus, we ended up talking about DKs and Paladins a good amount which I’m just not an expert on like them.

Bhig reply on April 18, 2010 7:07 pm:

Yeah i noticed they talked a lot about pallies and DKs. Which was interesting enough. I’ve never played either so was interesting to hear. Are you and the Rawrcast folks planning another session in the future? I’ve really liked both Round tables. It’s nice to hear opinions from the other tanking classes.
And next time you should ask them about stam vs armour for EH. I’d like to hear how other players/classes gear go on that one. Personally I’m on the armour side of the fence (within reason of course).
