Part 3: Maximizing your Boss Threat

Monday, March 17th, 2008

After reviewing just how we go about generating maximum threat, it’s time to take a look at Specs and Enchants.

The Threat Spec - 12/5/44

12/5/44 - It works out pretty amazing that every single point has a purpose to maximizing your threat. This isn’t to say that other specs shouldn’t be used. Just like gear, you should always spec for the encounter. However, if you are presented with a threat intensive fight at your level of progression absolutely nothing beats this spec.

The Road to Passive Uncrushable

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

So a while ago, I completed a passive uncrushable set, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

What’s Passive Uncrushabe?

It’s gearing yourself in such a way that you don’t have to hit the Shield Block button in order to avoid getting hit with a Crushing Blow. It means that every single time a mob attacks you, it’s going to Miss, be Dodged, Parried, or Blocked. (Pretty Insane, I know!) Basically, it’s ideal for any fast attacking boss.

How do we go about achieving this?

  1. Block Rating
  2. Defense Rating
  3. Dodge Rating
  4. Parry Rating

Executioner vs Mongoose

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Quite a while ago now, I discussed Mongoose vs Battlemaster which really wasn’t even a comparison so much as a one-sided victory for Mongoose. This is what makes the Executioner vs Mongoose debate actually interesting. They are both worth it.

Mongoose

Chance on hit to occasionally increase Agility by 120 and attack speed slightly. This affect lasts 15 seconds.

  • 6x Void Crystals
  • 10x Large Prismatic Shard
  • 8x Greater Planar Essence
  • 40x Arcane Dust

[Primal Hakkari Idol] + [Punctured Voodoo Doll]
—————————————————–
= [Presence of Might]

Don’t settle for an inferior enchant that costs 90g. Presence of Might is still the best enchant for your helm.
